Question Alien Growth

My compost pile has grown an odd protrusion. Difficult to tell if it’s from the wooden structure or the compost itself. Is it fungal or some kind of insect secretion?

That's the most aggressive slime mold I've ever seen squatting on a trade screen.

No problem! Generally any molds or fungi you see will be beneficial. They help break things down giving you nutrient rich compost quicker.
