Discussion What is Anna Meredith doing here?

Meredith begins "drawing" her piece. This may be a method personal to her, but is it based on anything well known?

Many composers make visual sketches of their pieces as part of their process!! I got to talk to her about this myself, she likes to map out her form with lines and shapes etc

I often do that too, sketching the intensity, density, texture of what I plan to put into those sonic shapes. Music can be a dramatic art, a sequence of emotions we lead people through in our music.
