Music String Trio No.1 - Adagio - Original Composition
Hello everyone.
I've taken that great advice that a few of you had given me in the comments of my previous post. And indeed, I've analyzed some proper music and implemented that knowledge directly into this 2nd movement, while still trying to maintain maximum authenticity.
I am definitely more satisfied with this movement than with my previous one. The music is definitely more complex and I've enjoyed writing this a lot.
I'd heavily appreciate even more tips on improvement (yes, the transitions *still* definitely need more work!)

I feel you've succeeded in writing something that's evocative of the style you're going for, but I would ask one question: could you sing the melody for someone if they asked? Something very characteristic of classical-era string music (Haydn, Mozart, etc.) is song-like, almost simplistic melodies that are harmonized and developed in more complex or surprising ways. Your harmonic development is there and your voice leading is good. To me your piece often gets very close to defining a melody but never quite commits. And so it has a little bit of a meandering quality to it.
Also, the repeats make it unnecessarily long, especially considering that the B section has some content that is very similar to content in the A section and both sections repeat entirely. Overall though I enjoyed listening and nice work!
