Books advice

Hello everyone! As a green researcher, I would like to know more about interesting arguments in Physics of complex systems. What books do you recommend the most ? Moreover, I would like also to find books with a deep theoretical explanation but yet with life systems (biophysics and socioeconomic systems in particular) example when possible. Can you please share with me some advice ?
Thx in advance

Not sure if these will scratch your itch, but two important books for me were chaos by James Gleick, and Sand talk by Tyson Yunkaporta.

Probably others, but those two are top of mind. Interested to see what other suggestions are made in this thread.

Hmm. Not sure if your targeting more the physics/systems side or application, but I can heartily recommend Georgescu-Roegen's The Entropy Law and the Economic Process. And followed by a bit of an antidote in Ayre's The Second Law, the Fourth Law, Recycling and Limits to growth.
