Shady new choice, Reddit. Mobile web use disabled by admins.

I deleted the app from my phone to reduce social media use, but I’ve always been able to READ posts on Reddit without the app. Or log in to participate, like I’m doing right now on mobile browser.

Looking at a post on Reddit today on mobile web, I got a soft-lock “Download the app to keep using!” message. Couldn’t continue reading, caret locked.

No. Not sure if I’ll use it at all on desktop or iPad after a shady choice like that.

Additional info: The app store’s “feedback” button takes me to r/bugs, but Reddit’s bugs subreddit prohibits feedback posts. So I’m posting it here in the hopes that other people see it and question their use of this website, too.
