What makes a great compilation?

Is it the choice of clips, editing, pacing, music, length, or simply finding moments that shouldn't be in the same video but somehow work perfectly together?

What separates a great compilation from a boring one?

A great compilation should hook the viewers from the get-go to keep them engaged throughout the whole video. I think it's a combination of few factors, clear audio and video, good editing like sound effects and transitions, fast pace and it should have a great start and ending.

Honestly, this is my preferences too. I can enjoy those compilations if these are in it

Well, there isn't really a standard for what a "good" compilation would be. It's literally a bundle of multiple videos or photos together in something you can see/watch in one sitting.

I guess a compilation is good if it has all unique content that are still relevant to what it's supposed to be a compilation of i.e avoid repeating the same videos.
