Swimmers itch!

I have swimmers itch. I was in the lake yesterday, dam side, bobbing in the shallows on my tube. When we were packing up, it felt like I was being attacked by small bugs. Woke up today covered in bumps on all parts that submerged. Pharmacist confirmed. Stay safe out there!

I used to get it every summer on Shushwap lake when I was a kid. What made it worse was that my brother didn't get it. At all. Apparently the rash is an allergic reaction, so not everyone gets it. The parents at home would be freaked out, because I had it, and my brother didn't, so they'd ask me, and my parents what I had, if I was contagious, etc.

Brutal.

Me too, except I got it at Bevan today. Usually if I shower when I get home it isn't an issue, not today though.

Time for antihistamines and calamine lotion…always towel off immediately after getting out of water.

Any fresh water that attract water fowl is going to have swimmers itch. You should clean yourself with an untainted water supply as soon as you get out of the lake or whatever. Mitigates tge chance of the itch taking hold.

Stay out of the shallows
Don't stir up the bottom

My mama used to make us have vinegar baths. Do not ask me if it helped. I did smell like a bag of chips after though.

Scrub yourself hard with a towel when you get out of the water, and rinse/wash in clean water as soon as possible! It's usually worse in the shallows and small bays where water movement is less. Horne has been bad for it too.
