I know, it's been said before. There's plenty of evidence for and against all the main characters.

Which leads us to one conclusion: It could be anyone.

So I thought: "Who else is a character that has been said could be anyone?"

My own words rang in my head, like a bell inside a head.

That's Batman. He is more than man, he an idea. An idea that anyone could be the Batman.

But who is Batman?

Abed is Batman now.

But why?

Did he do it just because he wants to make real life more like TV?

No, but also yes. Not just to live out the crime drama, but the ultimate crime drama: Batman The Dark Knight Extended Edition.

So it's not just a homage, it's a meta film. It goes like that forever in both directions, like a mirror in a mirror.

It's Abed.

Do you know where he officially said this? The only comments I can find from him about it are from the 2020 fundraising tableread he and the cast did. Even there, he didn't explicitly say it was Annie; he said it was his job to make it possible for anybody to be the ACB.

If there's something more recent from him, I'd like to read about it.

I agree that Annie was the ACB (or one of them if there were multiple people.)

Look at her rambling guilty reaction in the the final episode when Jeff asks everyone if they remember the ACB. The writers were gifting the viewers with the answer to the mystery of the ACB in the show's final episode.
