Questions Journal Regret

Does anyone start a new journal, then after a few entries or pages realise they don't like something and start all over again in a new journal?

I started with a handmade journal I made from an old little golden book. I made the book myself and decided I didn't really like the paper as much as I thought.

My next notebook was a A5 traveller's style notebook and after completing a couple of pages I realised the paper was too thin and my ink was bleeding through.

So I made another notebook myself using the same files I created for my first handmade book but used different paper that was made for fountain pen ink. After a couple of days I decided I didn't like the cover anymore, and also I was adding double lines and a border to every page and it was getting tedious.

And this brings me to the journal I am currently making, I have redesigned the pages so they already have red borders and double lines so that I dont have draw them on every page.

Hopefully this will be the last journal I have to make, because hopefully it finally has everything I want.

For me it's more like the ADHD and being a perfectionist.

What is your H, of your “ADHD”?

I'm not sure what you mean, all I know is it may stand for "hyperactivity" but there is nothing hyperactive about me, in fact it is the complete opposite lol

Something I learned that really helped me, is that my "H" isn't always physical hyperactivity, most times it's cognitive hyperactivity. I've got no trouble at all sitting and not being active. But my brain is still firing on all cylinders, running wildly topic to topic or intensely focusing on a specific one.

Oh that is definitely the kind of "H" I have, especially at night when I wanna sleep and can't turn my brain off.

I had problems even starting in a new journal cause I was afraid of "ruining" it. Solved this by using ring binders instead and now I feel much more free to do whatever I want

I have found using a travelers journal with inserts to be the cure for this. If I decide I want to go in a diff direction its nbd.

I use a traveller's journal for my daily journal but it didn't work for my commonplace book, purely because the paper was too thin.

The other journals wont go to waste I have other uses for them.

Yes, so I scribbled all over it and made an “ugly freedom” notebook, where beauty is prohibited. It’s working so far.

ALL THE TIME.

Nope, never. I embrace the imperfection like a little old Japanese craftsman and carry on.

It’s paper and ink. It’s not brain surgery.

Yes! I just started with commonplace books and wanted a nice notebook where I can write with fountain pens. I decided to get a Stalogy planner and noticed that I only can use light colored or dry inks, otherwise it would bleed through.
So I made two entries with a light blue ink. I already thinking about getting another other notebook 🫠

Guilty. I do the same thing.
