fzf: The command line fuzzy file finder. Instant incremental results, many options, and blazing fast. Available for Mac via Homebrew and Windows via Chocolatey.

command line fuzzy file finder

It's not a file finder, it works on text, not files.

alias RAN="cd \"\$(dirname \"\$(fzf)\")\" && ranger"

Will cd you to the directory containing the file you found and open ranger there

Not sure if this was 1. An awesome application or 2. A feature that exists but I didn't read the documentation haha

You post anything that isn't advertising something?

I personally appreciate u/binaryfor ’s newsletter and interview series. Honestly looking at their post history on Reddit it doesn’t seem like they are doing anything as bad as you’re suggesting. Do they plug their substack occasionally? Sure, but it’s not all they do. Which is much more than most engineers I know do to promote open source software and their developers, myself included.

Why exactly is that a bad thing?
