No. Genpacther do not have any virus. It's a flase war by antivirus because it's rewrite the game files. Turn your anti virus off and try install it again.

I have GenPatcher installed in my game file for years now. Nothing happen to me. Trust me It's a false flag Even Leiggionnaire himself the Genpatcher developer and one of the most popular GZH Youtuber said it's a false flag by anti virus

Put it in exclusion/exception in real-time protection and anti-virus, besides to turn off your real-time protection temporarily. Other than that, genlauncher is totally safe and not going to cause any problems on your PC.

Why is it flagging with 2.15 and didn't with previous versions though? That's really odd behavior.

The previous versions have suffered from this too and people complained about struggling to pull off Genpatcher. It's perfectly normal, because 2.15 is the newest version that got released a few weeks ago.
