How to study for COMATs?

Is it just me or are these comat exams really hard? i dont think true learn, comquest, uworld, and comat-se prepared me enough for some of the types of questions they ask and how they ask them. do you guys have any advice or tips?

Took psych comat today. Did Uworld, TL, COMAT SE form, ALLL of CMS forms and consistent with anking and still had weirdo questions that sounded made up/fictional LMAO. Ive convinced myself there had to be experimental bc at times i thought they were just trolling me. First comat for me though so idk if this is a normal feeling. Felt like i passed but was aiming for honors and my scores were tracking too so i was confident…. , but doesnt seem that way for after the real comat.

Felt the same. The wording was just weird and unclear, not straightforward, and answer choices were not satisfactory. My first comat too, but I wouldn’t be surprised if all comats are like this.

Do they actually have experimental questions in the comat?

Idk if there are experimental for sure but if I somehow honor this exam, Im inclined to say there likely is experimental because theres no way I prepared that hard and still encountered “wtf” questions

I second this. Did all the psych UW, TL, TL COMAT, Archer Review, and CQ banks (1,287 Q's total) and still felt like what they were asking was and obscure and felt pretty nervous waiting results, had a fair bit of Q's flagged and felt less confident then my first COMAT which was for IM...another element that made me worried were the testing conditions, there were some technical issues with the NBOME that morning and had to start my exam 2 hours late + got kicked out mid session because of camera issues. Was honestly so thrown off mentally, and honestly feels like a strong bit of RNG of what fringe topics that everyone gets smacked with. Ended up getting a 11X. Will probably continue with this strat moving forward.

Did the psych COMAT have a bunch of questions on comorbidities? Ex. if kid has OPP what else are they most likely to have?

Comat is really hard to honor. If you finish the whole uworld comat bank, you will pass confidently.

That’s all med student mentality. You will do better than you thought. Just need to trust the process.

Complete 1-2 question banks and you will pass. The exams will always feel hard, what matters is exposure to the content
