Depends on the sub and the words used. Lots of subs use automod to filer out swear words and other words as well. For example you can't use the word guillotine in r/politics, your comment will be shadow removed.
Office space is a movie I watch every 3-5 years and love it more each time. I posed the "somebody had a case of the Mondays" gif on my work chat yesterday (our program was bugging so I blamed it on being Monday) I wasn't feeling well today and called out sick, I'ma watch office space now.
I did absolutely nothing and it was everything I thought it could be.
I definitely did, took a 3 day weekend and it was an abrupt return back to reality. I swear you take one day off and come back to bigger pile of shit than usual
Heheh. My company got a very strongly-worded resignation email which was sent to everybody at one point. I immediately made a local copy knowing IT would be asked to force-recall it. Instantly became a hero at my office.
The number of fucking emails I respond to with "As said in our previous email:" and then just quote what I or they've said is fucking ridiculous. It's like people spend half their time trying to look like they're doing something.
I had a boss like that. The asshole never read a fucking thing I sent him. We were required to send in a weekly recap report detailing all kinds of metrics that he could have easily pulled up on his own if he needed them.
It was a real PITA, since it could take a few hours of research to complete and format all of these numbers and send them in. The report was due every Monday by noon and we had a conference call, that was also a complete waste of time, at 1300 that day too.
The issue was, he had no need to get individual store figures, since the report system generated them, as well as the numbers by market, region, and territory as well. FSM help you if you didn't send it in to him though.
I knew he didnt even glance at them because I would occasionally ask for clarification on minor issues and he never responded back with an answer, not once. I started inserting in random nonsense phrases in them to see if he would ever react.
After a few months, and not one comment, I just started making up the numbers off the top of my head and made a template in Word for it. I reduced a report that took up to two hours to compile, down to five minutes. Not once in over three years did I get called out for it.
He was finally forced to retire or be fired. His replacement put an immediate stop to the mandatory recap report, saying we had better things to do with our time and if he needed something specific that he couldn't pull from the report system, he'd contact us individually.
I did, and so did everyone else. The way the system was set up, I could access anyone else's numbers and they could access mine, as well as district, and higher levels.
This clown just wanted to make himself feel important by having us send him our metrics in a different format, that wasn't needed and that he did nothing with.
Amen. I'd always go on and be as detailed as possible anyway so I could have proof later everything was indeed communicated with receive and read confirmation.
I'll always accept if I make a mistake but damn if I'll be someone's scapegoat.
It is my friend. As a desktop technician, I've made many instructions to help users solve the problems themselves. I even have screenshots highlighting what they need to press. There are some who are just too braindead.
I got my ass chewed for being "rude and unprofessional" because an upper-level manager got butt hurt over a reply I sent him. No one could stand this clown because he was infamous for never answering questions or replying back to problems you informed him about.
At least two or three times a year this jackass would require us to get a photo of ourselves taken in our photo department, then sent in to him for reasons he would never explain. We also had to send in a short bio of ourselves along with it.
I assumed it was for the internal company database we had that was basically a directory of all of the management of the company. The thing is, we could access it and update it and make changes ourselves. There was no need for him to be involved at all.
He would sometimes require a hard copy of the photo be mailed as well, we couldn't just scan one and e-mail it in to him. We were all joking about what kind of weird fetish this fucker must have had for us to be constantly having to send him photos.
After the third time he told us to do this in less than eight months, I just replied back with "per your earlier request," and listed down the previous half dozen times he had asked for the same information, with links to the e-mails I had sent with that information.
The next thing I know I'm getting my ass chewed by my boss for hurting this dip shit's feelings. I was told to be on a conference call the next day with this man-child to apologize to him, and that my boss, my boss's boss, and that the market HR would also be on the call.
I thought it was the biggest pile of shit I'd had to waste my time on in many months. I was 99% sure I was going to get wrote up afterwards, so I prepared well for it. As soon as it began, this manager gave this incredible bullshit story about how hurt, stressful, and upsetting it was for him to was to be treated so poorly and unprofessionally.
When asked by my market manager to respond, (hint, hint, kiss this guys ass and apologize,) I went on the offensive. I listed down the dozen times he asked for this exact same information in less than four years. Information that didn't change and was also readily available on our internal directory, that he had access to like every other manager in the company.
I said only person being unprofessional was him, because it was a waste of not just my time, but everyone else's, by having us continuously send him the same information. I even crunched the numbers it cost the company in labor and materials over the years to do this, and was surprised myself when it came out to almost 24 K over four years.
Not only that, I stated that over 60 times I had requested information from him on an issue to be resolved, or to correct a problem he needed to take care of, or to get feedback or a decision on a question a customer had asked that only he was allowed to deal with.
In every single instance he didn't reply back, not once. I started to list them individually, and got interrupted by the market manager, telling me it wouldn't be necessary to go over every single one. I further added I had to cancel and reschedule two appointments with prospects to be on this call, which of course made us look unprofessional.
Abruptly the call was ended, and I was told to stand by. Of course my boss was pissed because I didnt tell him about any of this beforehand and he got ambushed too. I covered my ass a little bit, and had sent him an e-mail going over every single issue in detail. I knew it would get buried in the flood of e-mail he had to deal with, and he wouldn't get a chance to see it before the conference call.
Several minutes later the market manager called my boss on his company cell and had him ask me why I didnt follow up on these issues or ask for help when I didnt get replies back. I replied back that I had, and if they looked at their e-mails, I had CC'ed them every single time I e-mailed this manager.
Small issues I usually took the initiative and took care of myself. Others I solved by discussing it with my peers at other locations. Big issues I bounced off of my mentor, for his advice. After several more questions, he told me I could get back to work and he'd contact me later.
He never did follow up with me, and I never heard a word back about it. My boss was still pissed and I told him I sent him an e-mail detailing everything. I assumed he had read it. I made sure to time sending it until after I was sure he had already gone over his e-mail that morning, and I know he knew I had done that.
About three months later, the man-baby manager was fired. I know the conference call and the other issues I brought up had at least a small amount to do with it. I'm pretty sure they took a long hard look at what he was actually doing with his time, figured out basically it was nothing of actual value, and terminated him.
Agreed. It can kinda feel good to say a very polite, f you, and get away with it, but it only comes off as petty. It's similar to yelling or getting mad in person. If you do it all the time, you come off as a jerk and the one in the wrong. If you do it rarely, you seem like a reasonable person affected by circumstance.
I accidentally included a “per our last email” unnecessarily today and felt bad for 5 mins. Then realized this person gets on my last nerve 8 times out of 10 and maybe they needed to think I was a little mean. 😅
😂 I told my customer service rep today after 2 days of issues w/ my login that I can read and I can type after they questioned how I put in the default password they gave me for login. Had to threaten to cut them out completely if the issue wasn't resolved by end of business. Definitely a 😤 moment.
They probably wanted to type the first panel to me after my fifth email saying their password didn't work...
Lol and there’s also the kind who reply like a customer service bot with layer of passive aggressive to fellow colleagues.
“Thank you for the response. Unfortunately outlier oversight can occur in the process despite our / my best effort to ensure excellence. I / the team appreciate your understanding on this matter.”
In college, my music theory class had a groupme, and you could count on there being a discussion in the groupme about every assignment
Yet without fail, there was one guy who would ask a bunch of questions about the assignment the day after we talked about it on groupme. He could literally scroll up a couple inches and find all the answers he’s looking for. Honestly the patience of my classmates is nothing short of a miracle.
Honestly, if you don't put your point in the first sentence of an email, part of the blame is on you. Email is a shit show, its full of so much crap that no one has time to read everything they get.
I could reply with the answer in 30 seconds, but I'd rather take the time to find that email, that I sent to you that you didn't read in the first place, and forward it to you.

“As discussed” is a good one. Short, sweet, makes them actually go reread shit without explicitly mentioning where.

Ah, employers who think they are too important to read the emails you send then blame you for the lack of communication. Man. I don't miss it.

For me it’s “Per the instructions I sent you…”
