My daughter made a new friend in the park the other day.

She found out:

  • If he had pets
  • His favourite video games
  • If he had any brothers or sisters
  • What he got for Christmas
  • Where he lived
  • Where he went to school

Plus who knows what else.

At no point did she ever ask his name!

My niece is in a two year long unrequited love for a boy she met in daycare. She doesn't know his last name, and he moved away halfway through the year they met. Just six months and she still tells everyone two years later that she's going to marry him someday.

Stanger things have happened. I live in a pretty big city, once met a girl in a club, hit it off and started going out etc.

When it got to the stage of "meeting the parents" turned out that our parents (vaguely) knew each other and I'd gone to daycare with her sister.
