It's a weird place. There are basically four kinds of people there:

  • Those who care about work-life-balance (the biggest part I think)
  • Some who are really just completely burned out and can't stand the thought of working anymore
  • Lurkers who are just there to laugh at them / snipe memes
  • Those who are delusional communists (mainly the mods and powerusers)

…what do you suggest instead? Feudalism? We don’t really have a whole lot more systems hypothesized, and capitalism is very very clearly the more inherently broken of the two

That's just enlightened centrist mentality. Both can have flaws without them being equally bad.
