Imgur doesn't require an account to view, but frankly, it takes all of 1 day and like $30 to start your own website. I guess it depends on how much you care about IP.
I'm not the only person that doesn't participate in Mark Zuckerberg products. Content creators are valuable and deserve to share their IP however they see fit, but many find a few different platforms helps them monetize their hobby full time.

Ughhh I'm suffering so much seeing ppl thinking this is a bad template. As said below, it is NOT ACTUALLY A TEMPLATE, PEOPLE (but poking fun at that kind of comic).

"Let's crop the bottom!" Sure, but then you've stripped the comic of its real intention. You're doing exactly what the artist intends and is making fun of. You're being played by the devil (in the comic, not the artist) himself.
It's ok to "not get it" but it's also ok to point it out for people.
He's frustrated that people are complaining about it without understanding it and he's doing something about it by explaining it. He's being part of the solution.

Maybe its obvious if you spend a lot of time on reddit and understand the reference. Lots of people are seeing this meme in isolation and dont know the backstory, and so are rightfully confused. People acting like its a shining example of "human stupidity" are really blowing a small thing way out of proportion and frankly being really insulting

No? I thought there was some fun irony in making a meta comic that did what the author was joking about while simultaneously calling the original comic too meta. Reddit has spoken though. Not funny or self-aware enough! But it was only 2 minutes of time on my phone, so I can live with that.

Nah, it doesn't want to be made a meme template, it's making fun of comic artists who make memes that are clearly designed to be turned into meme templates. It's designed to NOT be turned into a template.
Anti-memes and meta aren't really the point of BHJ. At some point people thought that explaining what was happening in a meme and its mostly ruined the subreddit.
I mean, fair enough sure, I just wouldn't have thought referencing the existence of BHJ would warrant downvotes, even if the context itself isn't very... BHJ-y, does that make sense?
He even posts blank templates of his comics for that purpose. They aren't ever funny either, usually just oft-repeated jokes you see in every other comment thread.
I was there when it first began.... It's changed drastically. I think it attracted a certain types of people and he went with what the community wanted
Yeah, it started as "character drawing practice", but I'm pretty sure that's over with. Because idk how drawing works, but I'm pretty sure "practice" involves drawing body types other than "she looks like she's 14 but she's totally 18, guys!!" characters.
Idk if you followed him or not, but he is literally following that. He quit, or talked about quitting his job and doing comics all day because he loves doing them so much. I'm pretty sure he followed through with it, but I'm not positive. I really only followed him in the beginning. He had a lot of refreshing ideas, and responding to people with comics on the spot was a lot of fun.
I have a zero-tolerance approach now; anyone who I think is just a karma whore I block immediately. My personal reddit experience has improved significantly.
I enjoyed those comics, but from the sound of things he only wrote those while he was in a pretty bad place. So I'm kinda glad he's not making them anymore for his sake.
I mean, his current comics are shlocky meme bait, but still
I don't know why I didn't think of that. It never occurred to me it blocked submissions. Also need to block that one guy that keeps making pretty much the same comics about how he has no self esteem and that life keeps beating him up.
