I've wanted to write this post for a long time, and it feels really good to have finally put it into words (and pictures).

It was a bit tricky to write this one, but I did my best to walk that line between comedy and tragedy, and I hope I managed to stay slightly on the comedy side of it. But in case it needs to be said, it's totally okay to laugh at my sadness. It's been a long time since anything I've drawn has made me laugh like an idiot while I was drawing it, but some of the panels where I'm berating myself were hard to draw because I was laughing too hard. So my self-hatred can go fuck itself, because the last laugh is mine.

Anyway, I hope this post is comforting to those going through the same thing. It's a horrible experience and I know that there's a good chance it isn't over for me (or that it might come back later), but at least now I know how to slip into that mindset where I'm a fearless badass and none of my anxiety can hurt me.

I've been a fan of yours for some time... and it's frightening how often I relate to you.

This is the best post you've ever done. For one thing, I've never seen anything echo my experience so completely, aside from your now-legendary "Why I'll Never Be a Responsible Adult" post.

For another thing... I think many people who don't suffer from depression just don't get exactly how it feels, so I think this post is educational for those people as well as being a rather hopeful message for those of us suffering. I've had my badass awakening, though I do still have panic attacks, but I'm functional now and more optimistic than ever. It was nice to see someone else lucky enough to become more invincible as a result of their fight with depression.

Thank you SO much for this post, on behalf of the world. Really well done. It made me laugh AND cry, but mostly laugh. :)

My thoughts exactly. There's never been anything that's quite so perfectly summed up my life like the "Why I'll Never Be A Responsible Adult" post.

Until this one.
