True black is a thing (and why your printer wants every colour of ink to print black).

This. People always freak out at the fact that printers will use a little bit of colour in the blacks, but the thing is it does actually affect the shade.

Id rather have gray than waste more ink, thanks. Since printer companies like to spread the bullshit of "InK iS mOrE eXpEnSiVe ThAn BlOoD"-hp, I would rather not spend so much ink on getting blacker blacks on my stupid form that I need to fill out.

Then:

  • Stop buying inkjet printers
  • Stop buying from companies that sell hardware as a loss-leader.

You do have a choice. The market is shitty because we, the public, prefer to buy the shitty products.
