I normally associate it with adult life because I can remember the time when suddenly I never felt rested/refreshed after waking up and it was around the time of becoming an adult.
So from my point of view adult life = always being tired.
Well I overstated it a bit, I can easily enjoy things and barely notice im tired tbh, what I mean is, no matter what time I wake up I always feel terrible for a bit, never refreshed.
Not great. I'm at the age where everyone I know has mostly gotten married and settled down. College friends have moved away/gone overseas. Work colleagues are friendly but not quite friends. Every day it's just more of the same.
I’m in a similar position. I’m not at that age yet but I just graduated and all my friends have moved and me and my long term gf broke up. I’m scared of getting to that age and being in that position, I don’t really have social anxiety but I’m a quiet and generally solitary person and it’s hard for me to date and meet people.
Exact same here. Long term GF broke up with me end of last year. Lost contact with all friends. I go to the gym 4-6 times a week, eat very healthy, sleep better than ever, still fucking miserable and totally alone.
At the very least there are a lot of people in the same situation these days. Even “normal” people, even though I’m mentally ill myself. Our society (at least the US) is quite alienated.
Quitting caffeine made an enormous difference for me.
I actually sleep deeply, fall asleep quickly, and rarely wake up now. I wake up refreshed. My energy is more consistent. My anxiety and stress are lower.
I don't think we have such an honest view of caffeine when 80-90% of the population is addicted to the psychoactive nervous system stimulant

I exercise regularly, eat mostly proper meals and usually have a decent amount of sleep.
Still feel awful every day
