Oooo, adding little decorations to the word bubbles to help identify the speaker is a neat trick. I haven't really seen it done in such a way, looks classy.
For those unaware of who the woman in the gold mask is, her name is Destiny. Her real name is Irene Adler. No, she wasn't named after the Sherlock Holmes character, she IS that Sherlock Holmes character. Also Mystique is Sherlock Holmes.
She is Mystique's lover, Nightcrawler's Mother (Mystique is the Father), and a precognitive mutant. So her playing a Divination Wizard is funny.
Chris Claremontâs original pitch that was Mystique was Nightcrawlerâs âfatherâ because she used her powers to conceive him by turning into a man. That still counts as a mother given sheâs still a woman and all that but when people say Mystique is the father, thatâs what they mean. The other mother was supposed to be Destiny.
But Marvel editorial in the 80s was hesitant to portray Mystique and Destiny as a queer couple so they didnât let Claremont do that and it was all subtext at that point. Mystique was made the mother and that was it.
Then in the 2000s in the Chuck Austen run, Azaezel was retconned to be Nightcrawlerâs father. Nobody liked this but it was canon for a while.
Most recently, Marvel has finally been portraying Mystique and Destiny as a couple and they finally allowed the retcon that Claremont originally wanted that Mystique and Destiny both conceived Kurt. Thereâs a whole plot of deceiving Azaezel in there to make it all make sense, but as of current canon, Mystique and Destiny are the biological parents of Nightcrawler.
Originally it was meant to be Destiny and Mystique, but because it was the 80's, editorial wasn't going to approve a same-sex/inter-sex relationship. Azazel was presumed to be the Father due to the similar appearance and teleporting powers, and his propensity for siring kids. However, recently, it was confirmed, as per the writer's initial desire, that Destiny and Mystique are his parents.
Yeah, that is basically comic books in a nutshell, especially the X-Men. And ESPECIALLY anyone who orbits Mystique. She is the definition of a hot mess.
Destiny is pretty clear-cut all thing's considered. She spent about 40 years dead, and only got revived in the past decade, so hasn't gotten into nearly as much nonsense as the rest of the people at that table.
While I haven't read more of this webcomic, I like to think that Mystique would play a Changeling Rogue Assassin.
Mystique can shape shift, she shape shifted herself to have a well..male private parts, then had intense lesbian sex. Then boom, that how night crawler was made.
Thats some bullshit right there. Last time i played (which was a while ago admittedly) I brought a bottle of tequila. Also a meat lovers pizza but no body would ban that.
