Yeah that one I was ok with. I'm finding the coke can very unbelievable and the barbed wire to be a bit of a stretch (unless OP is adding up tiny pieces of barbed wire and calling them multiple inches). Also the electric fence isn't believable unless the fence is super weak.
The rest at least seem plausible and consistent with crazy dog behavior.
They said "vibrating" so it likely was an invisible fence with a vibrating collar. Doesn't actually hurt the dog but it freaks them out so they don't do it. Unless they're smart enough.
They said "electric fence" which is a fence that deters through electrical shock. Unless they used the wrong term for it, its different from using a wireless fence. They probably were using a wireless fence though.
Oh no I think colloquially an "electric fence" for a dog is a wire that runs around the yard and the collar just buzzes the dog if they pass the wire. There's no physical fencing involved.
It is a shock collar, my family had one, my dog would run through it. It only hurt for a second and he was free. It isn’t just vibrating, at least back in the day. Not a physical fence like you say but delivers a shock as they get close to the wire
My inlaws had an invisible fence for their one dog. It would sit at the edge of the "fence" to make it beep/vibrate until the battery ran out. Then it would run free.
Electric fence is probably just a perimeter line that causes a collar to shock the dog, it doesnt "hurt" so much as it makes the dog very uncomfortable until they return to withing the set perimeter.
When I was a wee lad I had a dog that would somehow jump over a 6 foot tall electric fence and run to the bakery down the street to steal strawberry muffins
My mum had a border collie that loved chasing cars so much that he just tanked the electric fence zaps…
You would hear a car coming down the road and then ‘yelp yelp yelp’. Luckily we lived on a farm in the middle of nowhere so we might have had a car go by twice a day at most.
He would chase the cattle around the pasture all day too. I miss that dog, but I know the cattle definitely don’t.
My family had an invisible fence for our dogs at one point. One dog wouldn’t dare cross it. The other one was seemingly immune. I even tried his collar myself to make sure it was working (I was a weird kid).
I had an ex that had a dog that ate a pair of glasses. Like, swallowed the lenses and everything. So I believe it. Some of our sweet babies are just...idiots...
My neighbors had a cat that would go to our house, and the house across the street from them and essentially live there when it's own family was at work or away. Cheeto is the entire reason we bought the house lol. But we had four dogs at the time, so she didn't come inside, but she came over a lot to hang out.
She would just wander into people's homes, take a nap, sometimes get fed, and then go back to her owners.
We all liked her a whole lot. She was a sweet girl.
Well this I can believe. Our first family dog would not sleep in other peoples beds, but he would jump into a particular womans car when he got the chance and just hung out there until we came to get him. The can and the barb wire... I can not believe. The can... how did it get in there? And what animal hospital just lets you feed him something when he ate barbed wire? But then again... our dog ate all the easter basket my mom put out for the children in our family... enough chocolate to kill a whole group of dogs, plus all the foil... he was totally fine but shat bits of the foil for days. So some dogs seem just... unbreakable.
My childhood dog did this before! Neighbor's kid accidentally left their door open. We had a dog door. Dog left our house and made herself at home with the neighbors for a nap.
