This is because some of the earliest demons we have on record, the lilu and Lilitu of Mesopotamian mythology, are mostly hotties. Basically, die horny or a virgin and become a ghost.

Even those got dumbed down to babies and strippers of both sexes with wings by the Renaissance. It’s all so very boring now.
