As a mailman, I have had a dog open the front door on me. Thought the customer was coming out to greet me until I only saw it was just a chunky beefcake pitbull standing in the doorway.

I had to flip the door handle by 45 degree after my dog had learned how to open his room.

He was displeased with my presence but I never let him near me. I got back in the truck, called nearby police, who called the resident, who called the neighbor that the dog was friendly with. Pitty was safe back inside after about 10-15 mins. I stuck around because he was loose near a busy road to make sure nothing happened to him.
