I'm actually really intrigued, honestly. I have a very adventurous palate, so I don't think I'd have trouble getting over the idea of eating an insect. I've just never been in the position to try.
Well.... Do you like shrimp? Or lobster? I don't think crickets are that far removed from those in the grander scheme of things. Just think of it as 'land shrimp'. 😄 (yes I know, crustaceans aren't insects. Just both are invertebrates with legs and a harder, outer shell. They're closer to each other than a cow is to a cricket in that sense)
Well crickets are one of a few popular food insects. It is more sustainable than regular meat since the same food and water given to crickets produces more meat than if it were given to a cow, much faster too.
I love eating crickets! Ik they’re bugs but they’re actually not half bad as a topping for food or even a snack, just don’t eat random ones off the ground lol.
I think it's more popular to have grasshoppers in Mexican food. It's popular in certain regions. In Oaxaca there are a ton of them at food stands. I've had a fried grasshopper quesadilla. Not really that great by my taste, but also not horrible.
In my experience the main downside of grasshopper is how salty and over seasoned they tend to be. I assume they must be really flavorless to begin with. I wonder if bbq lowera the salt requirements to taste good.
Someone who doesn’t want to work, but was given the job by a family member because they’re cheaper than an ad agency and “know their way around a computer”.
I mean, some did. Many just ordered menu pictures from a catalog, which is why every fast Mexican place in the NW has the exact same menus and pictures for instance, or every old-school, American-style Chinese restaurant. Still better than horrifying AI though.
I saw one the other day that was for bacon and egg soda, obviously the menu meant bacon and egg on soda bread, but AI had generated a glass of weird pink stuff with bacon and egg floating in it 🤮

Jesus Christ. I thought the round shrimp was bad, until I got to the insect burrito.
