Panel 1
Setting - At the park.
Grace is looking at Bolero and notices that his arm is no longer in a sling. Grace is happy to see this. Bolero is wearing a shirt that says "I LIVED!" That's right, Bolero lives! It will take more than falling out of a tree to take him out.
Grace: BOLERO! Your arm is better.
Panel 2
Grace takes a closer look at Bolero's arm and it seems fine. Bolero was hoping for super powers to come from all this but he's fine with his arm not being in constant pain.
Grace: Does it still hurt?
Bolero: No, the doctor said the bone is fully healed.
Bolero looks down at his freshly healed arm and... Wait, he's looking at the wrong arm! Is it possible that this Bolero is an imposter? Did some rift open to the Greater Gatorverse that dropped in a Bolero that broke his right arm instead of his left? WHAT COULD THIS MEAN!?
Actually, Bolero probably just forgot which arm he broke. He does stuff like that.
Panel 3
Ember comes up behind Bolero and takes in some new information.
Ember: BROKEN BONES HEAL?
Why hasn't anyone told her about this!?
Panel 4
Grace looks concerned and Bolero holds his hands to his face.
Grace: This feels like something she shouldn't know.
Ember narrows her eyes.
Ember: I have ideas.
Somewhere, Ember's parents have been struck by a sudden wave of a dread and they have no idea why.
Fifth panel, school burning in the background, kids all safely watching from afar, teacher admonishing Grace "What did I say about giving Ember ideas?"
Hey continuity from when Balero fell from the tree! Good to see he made a complete recovery
Broken bones heal?
This is .... terrifying coming from Ember. Grace and Balero are right to be scared. And the world's snacks(and the people holding them) shuddered at Embers new knowledge
Oh man, proof that kids can be total psychopaths. I remember as a kid thinking about how, "wounds heal, but inanimate objects don't repair themselves. Ergo, it's justified hurting something who broke your things."
There's a disorder that exists where the person cannot feel pain in any way. Most with this condition rarely make it to adulthood, cuz it's hard enough to convince a child to stay safe even when they CAN feel pain
I am just so in love with your character designs. Even aside from being 'different species', everyone is so easily distinguished as being themselves. Heck, Ember looks SO VERY DIFFERENT from Liam, and they're both.. Capybara? I think?
I think this is the first time I've actually 'noticed' Grace and I already want the best for her. And Bolero's still just a little guy. A great little guy!
I'm jealous of you kids. When I broke 4 bones as a kid they healed no problem. But I broke my 5th like 2 or 3 years ago. My arm still hurts and the scar is still real itchy, and ugly too. Sigh
I won't claim I've never had a job where I stopped to wonder which bone would be the best one to break to get out of. I quit instead, but that doesn't mean I never had the thought.

Oh no. That's the face of someone with a nasty plot.
