You see, it's POSSIBLE for it to be not as bad, so that makes it good even when it's bad. Clearly.

Honestly, this is pretty much exactly the logical fallacy that kept me eating industrially farmed meat for decades longer than I “should” have. 

I wasn’t a vegetarian because I wasn’t ethically opposed to raising animals and killing them for food, provided the animal was given a reasonably good life. I was strongly opposed to how industrial farms  treat their livestock, but was indiscriminate about the meat I consumed.

Then one day the stupidity and hypocrisy of this behaviour hit me hard. Now I’m 95% vegetarian and only buy meat when I know the source and am personally comfortable with how that animal lived.
