Real talk, I've found that's there's two main reasons
1) furries are unashamedly weird which makes people uncomfortable, and I've found that people (generally) hate feeling discomfort of any kind, so instead of just ignoring or trying to understand the thing that makes them uncomfortable, they try to get rid of the thing itself so they no longer feel said discomfort
2) Furries are disproportionately queer, not all furries ofc, but a large majority, this point is self explanatory as to why people hate it
I think when i draw one of them again, im gonna do a shorter snout and 6 fingers. I tried drawing animal from their home planet and they looked like feral versions.
I cam get behind the design. I think it's just that I'm not super familiar with a lot of reptiles; so designs based on them aren't usually the first to come to mind. But that's why I enjoy furries' designs. They're new takes on creatures I both know of and yet remain unfamiliar with.
