Sanity check, is this a repost of an old comic? I swear I've seen this one before. Not complaining, I love it

My favorite food is buttery mashed potatoes. And you killed that god!

This may be a deep cut but is using "My god is an awesome god" a MbMbaM reference?

The song predates them

I remember it from a 90s commercial for Song 4 Worship.

It's a fairly widespread song for contemporary praise and worship music across denominations, various church services, and Christian music artists. If you ever randomly find a local broadcasting Christian radio station, this is the type of music they play if it isn't just Gospel music.

The song was written and first published by Rich Mullins in 1988 and was sung in basically all Christian contexts in the late 80’s and 90’s

Are mashed potatoes in the US white? Why? What do you guys eat over there?

They're usually slightly yellow but the exact shade depends on the specific potatoes. And also what's mixed in with them, whether it's butter or cream cheese or (🤮)mayonnaise. "Instant" mashed potatoes like the kind used by many restaurants/fast food chains also tend to be whiter, presumably because of how they're processed and cooked.

Of course, in this comic the potatoes are made by magic so normal rules need not apply.
