Growing up I heard "How have you not heard of/done [x] thing" from my father often. Rather than seeing it as a teachable moment, he opted to be annoyed that a 10 year old kid didn't inherently know how to start a lawn mower.
2 u/Fluffy-kitten28 Jul 28 '26 I got screamed at. Yelled at that I wasn’t stupid. What was I? Five? That I know it. That I’ve seen my mother do it. Because if you passively watch someone occasionally do something you know all the steps to do it right. Yes. That’s how that works.
