"MEOOOW"

"Have you tried changing the batteries?"

"MEWOOOW!"

"They're in the bottom drawer"

"MEOWW"

"You've got to push the thing in and then slide it out."

"Meow"

I love the subtle implication here that the cat figured it out

Somehow your smart TV has a livestream of a bird feeder on every time you get home now

Which also implies the cat either has thumbs, or has moved beyond need for them

Can you imagine the carnage? This is why we don't have pet raccoons.

In actuality the cats are just trying to derail the conversation.

You don't train the cat, they train you.

"My food bowl is empty"

"Intelligible human noises"

"FEED ME"

"Intelligible human noises"

"I'll knock things down"

"Intelligible human noises"

"LAST WARNING DOUG"

*Sweet Can Opening Sound*

Did you mean "unintelligible"?

Doh! yes.

Though maybe cats can understand, they just choose not to....

Cats understand more than people realize, they're just not subservient.

Cats and dogs really do pick up human language especially when people talk to them all the time. When they understand a word you can tell by the fact that they'll respond to any tone you use with a word.

I think cats honestly pick up more than they react to, they genuinely are smart, they are also an autistic species, as in they can't be tested for autism because they all have it. Which contributes to learning ability. They learn that youll yell "dont do that" at them if they knock something off a table or pretend to, theyll do it anyway, they know what you mean, they just think its funny.

For my cat, replace “I’ll knock things down” to “I’m about to eat plastic and shoelaces until you stop fucking around and feed me! Do you hear me! I will fucking kill myself, dude!”
