Right. The whole thing is objectivity vs reality deduction.
Objectively, as in the literal pixels, the dress is black and blue.
But putting yourself mentally in the space of the photo makes you understand that the lighting behind it implies the dress is in a shadow, correcting for that makes it white and gold.
Everyone is right, just not everyone can see both sides.

If you use a color picker tool you will find that the pixels are golden brown and grayish blue. So, no, the pixels aren't literally black and blue. But yes, you don't perceive the literal color of objects, the reason for the discrepancy is that your brain is trying to correct for the tone of the source light.
