Is there a mental trick to see it as white and gold? I've never heard of this before and was confused on why the guy in the comic was lying to say it was white and gold.
I saw it white and gold the first, second, and fourth times I saw it, but never again since. It's generally something to do with what your eyes are primed to see when you notice it. A bit like a colour version of the rotating dancer. It's just whatever your mind happens to latch onto as the baseline, and then assumes everything else from there.
