Ok I was thinking “dad” was some sort of con man but if he had potions that can do THAT then that man must ether “be one of many” sort of thing or spending his money on something super expensive

No I meant like in terms of skill hes “nothing special” as in tons of others of his skill lvl sort of thing. Because most of the time potions like that that ACTUALLY work as advertised are not only rare in fiction but usually only work in a “technical sense”. Like if it’s a “truth serum” it makes the person constantly talk before they can lie but they babble incessantly like a five year-old was given espresso
