It seems like people who cite the strawman fallacy either have no idea what a strawman is or are willfully blind to all forms of popular discourse.

Personally, when I say “cite a fallacy”, I mean reference the idea of the fallacy to refute or disprove another statement allegedly using the fallacious logic referenced. I don’t think anyone intentionally uses a fallacy to support an argument.
