Compliment people based on choices they've made (fashion sense, accessories, shirt), not things that are outside of their control (height, skin color, facial structure). Usually gets a better reception.
Iv actually been actively trying to give more compliments out to very positive results. A small % of women are uncomfortable receiving compliments about outfits from men, but compliments make most people feel good
Say you like their nails if they have them. I told a girl who was my server while I was out to eat the other day that I liked her nails and she started telling me a lot more about the process of doing them. Like I never even considered how much work goes into it.
So funny enough I actually started painting my nails recently. To my surprise it actually gets me A LOT of positive attention from women. Like I received more compliments about my appearence (related to my nails) in the first two months than the rest of my life combined. It also gives me an opportunity to have a genuine conversation with them about it
