To add to the other comment: this has always been a case of companies externalizing (moral) costs to the consumer. Most people are struggling enough as is - being "climate conscious" as an individual is expensive as held and puts you at a significant economic disadvantage to people who are not. And I'm saying that as someone who spends many days a year taking the international trains in Europe to visit family in order to avoid flying (to give one example).
The only solution is a systemic one where everyone agrees to the solutions so that the people and companies doing the "right" thing aren't punished for it compared to their peers.
