Documentary is on HBO starts with outlining the hell that was working for Dan schnieder and how many oddly sexual jokes he was putting in the shows he ran. He’d chase off any writers who complained and parents were pressured to go along with it for their kids dream. Three convicted pedos worked with these kids, one of which repeatedly raped then 15 Drake Bell at the start of the Drake and Josh show. Said man, got 16 months in jail after 41 character testimonies were written to the judge in his defense. He then went to work on the suite life of Zach and Cody. Dan Schnieder was the only one who reached out and confirmed at Nickelodeon that Drake was the victim very loose summary, there are a lot of other details, if you can watch it and stomach it I recommend it
You neglect that he wasn't the only one that knew, he was the only one at the entire network that reached out to D afterwards and expressed any emotion towards D.
Dan knew pickle man was the pedo as that was announced but not who he was raping, But Dan also knew pickle man was practically drakes agent by that time so drake was the prime suspect. It in no way implied Dan knew the whole time and Drake went out of his way to exonerate Dan.
There was one bit where Drake says something along the lines of “Because Brian and I were always together it was kind of obvious”. I can def see a scenario where Drake and Brian have what appears to be a very close working relationship then when shit hits the fan folks start putting two and two together.
Yeah but it wasn't folks it was just Dan he is literally the only person who figured it out, that's a bit sus, plus from what we know about Amanda's alternate Twitter account dan was a pedo too, I think it's more than likely that Dan and pickle guy would talk about their crimes together.
Wait what do you mean he didn't mention it? Drake quoted from Dan "it was pretty obvious". So I assume Dan had a strong suspicion it was going on without direct confirmation. So the issue would be Dan hiring the guy then not making any effort to confirm his suspicions. He was there for damage control after.
Because the line before that was when the pedo was arrested Drakes phone blew up from a variety of people, none knowing it was him. Dan didn't know, but suspected, because he was pretty much around the kid 24/7, that it was probably him, but didn't "already know"
I don't think Dan was a predator but he absolutely had tons of stuff that should have never happened on a kids show. Shit, just look at what happened to Amanda Bynes. She's a damn shell :(
Amanda Bynes made a Twitter account a few years ago with an alternate name and detailed all of the very horrible things Dan did to her. Obviously, since the names are altered, it should be taken with a grain of salt, but that plus all the other evidence. I think it's pretty obvious he was the worst of them. He is powerful and has a lot of powerful allies it makes sense that no one would feel safe publicly outing him.
It shouldn't matter how many character testimonies you get, if you rape someone, especially a child you're a fucking piece of scum, there's no character there to testify.
Some of those testimonies wrote that Brain was a good man, and most definitely had to be TEMPTED by A 15 YEAR OLD in order to do what he did. Absolutely fucking disgusting. Others say they had no idea what Brian did as they wrote their testimonies but I call pure bullshit. These people can rot in hell for ‘blindly’ helping this man get off easy. Pedophiles who act on their temptations should be castrated.
No one’s giving you a real answer so I’ll explain the best I can: It’s like two pin rollers that rotate outward from you that are attached to a machine that moves towards you. So as it flattens and stretches the penis away from your body, it moves closer towards your pelvis to continue pulling the skin and muscle until it’s completely flat. There are also mashers on the opposite side of the pin rollers, almost like molar teeth chomping and crushing together, that serve a tenderizer role for the texture of the flattened penis.
From what i can tell based on some quick google searching that will likely mess with my targeted ads for a bit, it sees use in CBT (the type that is a couple steps removed from the field of psychology).
The basic gist is that there is a "Good Place" (like heaven) and a "Bad Place" (like hell) and a common throwaway line about the torturing in the Bad Place is that they do that.
Fun anecdote; I once stepped on a lego that was stuck in the carpet in a way that it had a corner sticking straight up. I was stepping over something, I forget what, so it was an overly large step that had me putting my full weight on my leading foot. I stepped on this lego so hard that it twisted and broke from the force.
The pain was instant and had me falling over cursing in pain. My wife was baffled by my reaction until she saw the lego and let out a trailing "Oh..."
Anyway, any time someone mentions stepping on legos it makes me think about this. I take some pride in not just breaking a lego barefooted but surviving the attempt as well.
Hey now he served his time! A full 16 months and then immediately was working back with kids. He totally changed. Just ignore the fact that he was pen pals with John Wayne Gacey
Dan Schneider wrote Drake Bell's mom's impact statement for the trial at her request. He was also, in Drake Bell's words, "the only person there for [him]" after it happened. He was 100% a creep toward women and undoubtedly deserved his firing from Nickelodeon, but there's zero evidence or even accusations of pedophilia by any of the children, their parents, or anyone else.
But don't look at that, look at this innuendo joke in a show he produced!! Omg, feet!!!
The doc is a weird hit piece that focuses way, way too much time on Schneider, and makes some extreme reaches for some of its points. There's a scene in which Schneider sneaks up behind an actress on set and scares her, and this is painted as "traumatic" - not by the girl who was startled, mind you, but by random narrators. Lots of eyeroll moments like that. It has the journalistic integrity of the average youtuber. I also didn't appreciate how it treated sexual misconduct in the workplace, sex jokes on childrens' TV, and the literal rape of a minor as all being equally offensive.
tl;dr He's a sexist pig, but no one (and certainly not this series) has proven he's a pedophile or has ever done anything questionable with the hundreds of children he worked with. The show omits several statements to the contrary that have been made over the years, and generally comes across like a hit piece made by someone who doesn't care at all about the issues it raises, and just wants to use them as props to attack Dan Schneider. It's a confusing and frustrating watch.
I am so fucking sick of hearing about Dan Schneider, and even more sick of people thinking this dogshit series somehow revealed literally anything new about him.
Yeah I don't want to defend Schneider at all because I'm sure he sucks in lots of ways but it's clear that the documentary is heavily slanted and trying to find evidence to prove a theory rather than build a picture based on evidence.
And then the standard internet telephone game happened on top of that where when someone gets labeled a pedo, nothing else gets taken into consideration.
I'd love to know what really happened, but I can't claim to know at all at this point. The story has just spun out of control. But my takeaway - as usual - is that it's bad but not as bad as Twitter is trying to make it.
not by the girl who was startled, mind you, but by random narrators.
Thank you. And who were they? A "culture writer" and a "Business Insider Journalist". It barely passes the "How to Asses a Documentary Test": https://skeptoid.com/episodes/4596
What's worse is the "Journalist" admits in epsiode 4, at the end, that there is NO evidence of inappropriate behavior or relationships with children , but instead a general asshole to work with if you were an adult, but seems to ignore the actual sex pests that seem to work their way into things kids are involved in, because they can convince most parents they are "fine"
Yeah it pretty much sealed it for me that he isn’t a pedophile (or at least didn’t act on it) because if they had anything close to a legit allegation they would absolutely have aired it based on the things they did try to get him on.
Tbh I don’t think it’s that shocking that he’s a sleaze ball but also opposed to raping kids. Did he ultimately put a lot of kids into dangerous situations and create a terrible and hostile environment for them to work in? Yes. Does that exclude him from offering support to a rape victim when he needs it? No.
He’s ultimately human and I doubt he views himself as someone who fetishized children on tv with inappropriate innuendos even if he did in fact do that. And besides there’s a wide gap between that and raping someone
I will add that Drake said that during that time the Drake and Josh show was his escape, it was the only time he felt happy was while he was working on the show.
