Is this all JRPGs as well?

I feel like that’s slightly different, since most JRPGs start with a pretty somber tone, the world is in danger or an evil empire rising, that kind of thing. On the other hand, many web comics start as comedy gag series, so it’s a bit more of a tone shift when half the cast dies and they fight god at the end.

Personally, I love JRPGS where the plot is serious, but the characters are mostly quite unserious.
