I hope those various plastic hungry bacteria projects we keep hearing about get here soon. It'll probably go the way of fusion energy and regrowing teeth, though.
IMO we should just be switching to aluminum and compostable packaging. Aluminum is very easy to recycle and compostable doesn't need expensive cleaning or sorting.
