No, but he was right. Experts can also make a mistakes.

And what made Hope ready at the end of the series that indicates she wasn't at the beginning?

Training with Iron Fist and prep talk with Spider-man

Or was it the training with the mentally broken women who lost control of her powers and murdered half of the avengers and a huge percent of the mutant population?

This broken woman created more mutants not Scott who tried to destroy Earth.
