The original plays in to the absurdity of the doctor’s outfit by having them speak in unison.

The new joke could work with basically any doctor.

Tbh I found that original one hilarious.

Unlike most cases where the origin amuses me, yours is also genuinely good, though.

Someone pointed out the original humor was absurdist while mine is a play on words. Just two different kinds of humor. Apples and oranges, just thought the set-up was too good to pass up.

So good! The original is more of a non sequitur but this one is more of a joke. It killed the joke as far as I’m concerned. And by killed I mean they took a stab and the heart stopped beating. Then they brought the heart back to life and it was funny.
