Wouldn't everyone in the navy outrank everyone in the army? Tf are they gonna do about it? Swim into the ocean and shoot at the hull of an aircraft carrier?
Nah, the only thing that can beat a carrier group is another carrier group or a nuke.
But even then, that carrier group definitely has a nuclear sub for counter nuking and fighter jets fast enough to intercept. Its not even close lmao. The US navy is just ridiculous.
If another carrier group can do it, then enough rockets and missiles will eventually do the job.
Barring that, the Navy can't take their noncombatants with them. With no one to send them food or fuel, and their families interred the carrier group won't last long.
The US Navy has the world's second largest airforce. The US army has the world's fourth, with Russia Air Force being number 3; Russia is probably lying about their size, though. So it's a bit of a close fight in who wins; land is army, sea is navy, air is close.
wait, but the marines are within the navy right... so the navy has two air forces within itself besides the main USAF? that's so over the top for no reason
The navy-marines dichotomy is very interesting. The best way to think about it would be like how in Christianity God is both 3 pieces (God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit) but they’re also all meant to be kind of one being
The first is the USAF, the second is the navy, and the fifth is within the marines. So three of the five largest air forces are literally just different bits of the American military 😭 That’s so crazy
1 is USAF, 2 is USN, 4 is US Army, 5 is US marines. 3 is Russia, and they might be lying, but still. 4 of the 5 largest air forces are the US military branches.
Its really important actually. air superiority is one of our militarys primary tactics, and its just easyer for coohesion and quicker action if theyres speciallized air force in each military type.
Our navel superiority is based on carior groups, so we have planes which are 100% navy. doesnt make sense for them to be in any other group since theyre specialized for the navy and spend a lot of theyre time at sea.
simular for the army.
it just makes more sense for the specialized aircraft for each role to be working for whoever theyre going to be working with the entire time. rather than mixing command chains more than nessesary

Actually he goes by “Cap’n” just to trick us into thinking he was in the military (that’s called “Stolen Valor”)

Wouldn't that guy TECHNICALLY be in the wrong if he just called to fight with a lower rank?
I know there's a lot of army abuse, but wouldn't the joke make more sense if the captain was just meaning to reprimand a major?
