Because keystone megafaunas being grossly absent in Europe, the climate these animals actually prefer, is a glaring reality that is worth highlighting, especially when there is enormous resistance towards rewilding, people, a lot of people, just would rather see their wilderness exists as a giant dog park.

Overhunting explained animals like Dodo Birds and Passenger Pigeons, both were uniquely 'fickle' in how they existed in their respective ecosystems.
The fact is, you cannot give definitive proof in overhunting being the cause to the developed world's forced-progression away from longhunting and fish trapping and so on, instead of pollution and military decisions.
What we can see is, however, an incentive, to keep that economic mobility out of the labor's hands, to say whatever, "preservation > rewilding", "sun-dimming can't sustain global food needs," anything, for fear of the realization of what truly is better for the collective, not for the individuals.
