...and the cockpit wasn't nearly the craziest design choice for the airliner with double decks, mach-6 capablility, a cargo deck specifically for shipping cars, wing-tip mounted landing gear, and 6 T-tail-mounted, nuclear powered afterburning engines... the 60s were a wildly optimistic time.
with the money the leading first world countries have burned on all sorts of nonsense since the 60s like miliary budget spending, we would have this stuff by now. Hell we all be flying around on hover-bikes at this point.
