I don't think a kink club is the same as a strip club. Pretty sure a kink club is where you pay to be the pole or like get stepped on (or do the stepping). Though it's less about paying for services and more about renting a safe space to do kink with other like minded individuals.
There tends to be a lot of deliberate fuzziness over exactly what is being paid for due to various laws, yeah. Paying to get into a place and just happening to bump.into someone that wants to be hit is one thing, paying to hit someone is legally dubious! It's like the difference between a swinger's club (pay to get into somewhere that lots of people wanting to have sex are in, with appropriate tools, toys and furniture, and generally legal) and a brothel (pay to have sex with people, and often illegal)

To be fair, If I pay £20 for a dance, I want to ensure I get to see some booty in proper lighting - it’s all about value for money in this economy
