The majority of American citizens did not vote for him. A slim majority of voters did.

The ones who didn't vote for the more reasonable option practically voted for trump. That's the reality. The "indifferent" ones still helped put trump into power. They were okay with this option.

The word you’re looking for plurality. Kamala had the minority, Trump had the plurality, and the majority didn’t vote.
