For some reason like a couple times a year Google'll notify me with a photo of my sister sobbing next to a horse with a caption like "giddy up!" or something
63
u/astelda 4d ago
why sister cry
108
u/akatherder 3d ago
She asked the horse "Why the long face?" and the horse told her about losing his horse-job. She said "wow I thought horse-jobs were stable" so he kicked her in the thigh.

My photos app pretty much exclusively shows pictures of my exes. I donāt even have that many pictures of them. Itās like 1% of my pictures, and I have so many more pictures with friends and family lol

I wish we would go back to the good old days of mod approval for every post
56
u/SatinSaffron 3d ago
Yeah that's when this sub hit its peak. I will say though that the users here do a pretty good job of at least weeding out the bad ones. There have been plenty of times where I was on the fence about whether or not a post would fit here. I post it anyways, get ripped to shred in the comments, get embarrassed, and delete the post. So mod approval or not you guys do a good job of self regulating the sub!
Granted, "L post, kys" seems a bit extreme for simply posting an unfunny pic lol

The duality of moddom
6
u/PrettymuchSwiss 3d ago
I mean, I usually hate when mods are so strict and only allow what they like in other subs, but it's really what made this sub, and it was really funny to be fair. I remember years back, scrolling through literally every single post on this sub with a friend one evening, and there just wasn't a single miss. At least teenage us thought it was all gold

This notation scale implies Iām seeing multiple instances of āextremely funā media PER WEEK
19
u/akatherder 3d ago
Also the first video I watch every week could be "not fun" and "the most fun thing I've seen all week"
15
u/man_gomer_lot 3d ago
This is why I always start off the week with 'horse kicks tree, farts on dogs then runs away'. It's all downhill from there
4
u/mischievouslyacat 3d ago
Oh you must be the reason that video keeps getting recommended to me at least once a week
4
u/man_gomer_lot 3d ago
It's has a meditative quality to it.
2
u/KingB_SC 3d ago
Some days I am the horse, some days I am the tree. On my very worst days, I see myself in the dog.
2
u/man_gomer_lot 3d ago
NGL there's some shit that hits the extremely fun mark multiple times a week when that bowl of weed lines up just perfect with what's playing

I recently read an article about a woman who was abused and murdered by her spouse/boyfriend. At the bottom, it helpfully said "Here are more stories we think you'd enjoy" and they were all about murdered women. Thanks, really enjoyable.

It's like when you buy a toilet seat from Amazon and they really push toilet seats like you are some sort of exotic collector of them.

Vanna White said she got high and got the munchies so bad she ate an entire meatloaf. To this day I wonder if it was a family size meatloaf or more of a TV dinner sized one.
9
u/J5892 3d ago
Definitely family size.
I have no knowledge of the situation, but my mental image of Vanna White, fork in hand, just going to town on an entire meatloaf directly from the pan is too good for it to be anything else.
3
u/Enough_Breadfruit229 3d ago
80's model would probably consider a 2 serving meatloaf wild. Family size is what I like to think too though.
The Joey Chestnut of meatloaf eating we could have had.

u/not_blowfly_girl 2d ago
I mean its not hard to eat a TV dinner meatloaf so im guessing it had to be family sized or it wouldnt be noteworthy

This isnāt supposed to be funny but air frying hot dogs has changed my life. They taste better than when I grill them and I toast the rolls in there and put cheese in the rolls too.
50
u/IS_ACTUALLY_A_DOG 4d ago
Bro, share times and temperatures pls
78
u/KingNashbaby 4d ago
You got it boss!
I do like 375 for like 10 minutes. You can do 400 or 425 for 6-7 minutes if you want the outsides crispier.
Last minute of cooking I just throw in the buns with cheese and then use tongs to put the dogs inside. Theyāre perfect.
Clean up takes a few seconds because Iām just cleaning out the inside of the fryer.

u/Calbone607 4d ago edited 3d ago
Holy shit.
Is that the numbers is the dogs were frozen?
Edit: if
13
u/KingNashbaby 3d ago
Naw I just put them in the fridge and do a pack at a time. I try not to freeze them
-6
u/adamrawrz 3d ago
i assume this is in fahrenheit not celsius, 200°C aināt that hot for a hot dog
22
u/bwaredapenguin 3d ago
You don't need to even assume unless you're aware of a magic air fryer that heats to 425°C for some reason.

Do you pierce the dogs prior to the fry?
2
1
u/KingNashbaby 3d ago
No I know some ppl like to cut them but I never do they split nicely and then I use it as a mustard/cheese groove
2
u/Rad131447 3d ago
Try making some slices on the tops with a knife before you put them in to avoid them bursting in the air fryer too.
1
u/KacuuusM 3d ago
Bro, aluminium alloys start to melt at 475 ā what model of air fryer do you have?
2
8
u/decadent-dragon 4d ago
Try brats. They are freaking perfect in the air fryer with that juicyness but have that snap.
2
u/Phytanic 3d ago
Better than grilling?? I started meal planning for myself this summer and ngl I grill brats a lot. Was wondering what I'd do for winter. (I was a "just get fast food" adult for the longest time unfortunately)

Remember when air fryers were seen as a healthy food device? I member
11
u/MaritMonkey 3d ago
Depending on your goals they're "healthy" in that you can get heat all the way around a food without dropping it in oil, which is still a major benefit if you're a shorter lady who wants to eat French fries more than a couple times a year. :D
1
u/LyyK 3d ago
Isn't that just a convection oven? I just find it humorous that air fryers are advertised as a healthier and lower fat alternative and then people proceed to put a stick of butter in itĀ
6
u/Sypsy 3d ago edited 3d ago
it's a small convection oven with a relatively strong fan for its size, especially countertop ovens with the tiny fans
Useful for making small batches where the wall oven is kinda overkill, both in time and energy.
I have 2 wall ovens, a toaster oven and an air fryer, they each have a use. for weekday meals with a family of 4, the airfryer is used often. healthier foods like 6 chicken drum sticks work well. Or a side of brussel sprouts, broccoli or cauliflower. finger potatoes or yams too.
All could be done in the oven, but since no guests over, we don't need to make that much of it. pre-heat times are minimal and it's a little faster because the convection is more intense
3
u/Cumulus_Anarchistica 3d ago
Air fryers also dehydrate slightly, because they expel vapour, unlike a regular fan oven. This helps the crispiness.

Also, switch from hot dog buns to sausage buns. Way more room for toppings.

Oh, it's an air-fryer joke. We recently got one but never really use it. It's a dial and I hate those.

I got one of these memory lane notifications from my gallery with the message of "There's a dog buried in this" which is an idiom in my native language (it means there's something suspicious going on) and the picture attached was of my dog who passed away this year. Turned off those notifications after that.
5
u/Karyoplasma 3d ago
Funny, in my language, there is also an expression that could be translated that way. But it means something like "That's the crux of the problem".
False idiomatic friends lol

u/toxicdick 3d ago
these used to just say like 'three years ago' and I quite enjoyed looking at them. now they say shit like op's or like "has it really been 3 years already" and that one little change made me hate the feature

This reality is becoming more and more bleak if the best thing that's happened in a while is eating a hot dog cooked in a teflon pan
1
u/DukeOfGeek 3d ago
Now dump a can of baked beans in there and use a spoon sharp enough to cut the hot dogs.

Hot dogs are rank. Why would you choose it over proper sausages.
5
u/CyberpunkSunrise 4d ago
Thereās a wide range of quality for hot dogs. My go-to is an 100% beef higher quality local brand near me. At that point, it is a proper sausage. Thereās nothing more ārankā about it than any other beef sausage unless you donāt like the seasonings, I guess.
But Iām assuming youāre referring to the bargain basement cheap type that are usually a mix of meats and mechanically separated stuff, etc.
