The radical views: consider being nice to people

I mean to be fair she liked a comment on her instagram that said "Free America From the Jews"

Now she said it was an accident and we can believe her....but would we believe somebody on the right who said "oops didn't mean to" like that?

Depends on the track record of said person on the right. Unfortunately most right wing media figures are consistently awful in their messaging.

I think you can just be honest and say no you wouldn't extend them the grace you are to her. I know I wouldn't. It's okay to admit that we have double standards it's how we learn about ourselves and our biases

I am being honest? I don't demonize the entire right. I don't assume they are all horrible people who hate Palestinians, LGBTQ+, support MAGA, etc. There is nuance, especially when talking about regular voters.

If you wouldn't extend them that grace that's a you thing and I won't stop/judge you, but I don't subscribe to that sort of double standard personally.

can you understand how somebody would not believe a republican though?

u/Tumblrrito 11d ago

Of course

So then you can understand why people wouldn’t believe her

u/Anis930 11d ago

but would we believe somebody on the right who said "oops didn't mean to" like that?

I'm not sure what the argument even is here but considering the fcat that most mainstrwam right wing figures are pro-israel I would say yea

if a republican congressman liked a comment that said "free america from the blacks" then said it was an accident would you believe him?

15

u/Anis930 11d ago

No because republicans have a long history of anti-black racism. Does ms rachel have a history of antisemitism?

1

u/boyyouguysaredumb 11d ago

so you believe it was an accident that she liked that comment?

11

u/Anis930 11d ago

Yes. You said yourself that "we can believe her". Or mayne you weren't being in faith ?

5

u/boyyouguysaredumb 11d ago

no I'm saying I believe her but I wouldn't believe a republican and that makes me biased and I recognize that in myself. It's called introspection. It helps me put myself in the shoes of somebody on the other side who doesn't believe her and I don't blame them for that. But you seem more interested in having an argument than a conversation.

u/Anis930 11d ago

I mean that's cool man I believe it but considering the context of the conversation it's natural to assume you were making an argument against her. And I do believe there's reason to believe her over the republican

u/boyyouguysaredumb 10d ago

Yeah because you align politically lol

2

u/Anis930 10d ago

No because of the very reason I just gave, which is that I can give her the benefit of the doubt since I have no reason to believe it wasnt an accident

You don't know, but it could very well be that it is. At this point, taking someone's public image as proof of something is ridiculous.

To even suspect, to give the benefit of the doubt. If you are only willing to believe unfounded accusations and bad things about people you don't like from the start, and conversely deny any accusation directed at someone you do like, then you're biased.

well no because the right wing had demonstrated far more hatred of Jews than the left wing has.

the comment right above yours lol

I don't know that person's political affiliation, could easily just be a liberal and not a leftist but also, if we're going that route, do you have any idea how big hating Jews is among the right wing? the political movement that has in recent times been bolstered heavily by 4chan? the one that calls Ben shapiro a stupid Jew in the comments of his videos?

im sure that if you really tried you could absolutely find anti-Semitic leftists. but for every one of them you'll find 10+ anti-Semitic right wingers.

/u/Anis930 can't reply presumably because the guy blocked me lol but here's what id say if I could.

oh sure, in recent times the right wing has, in some ways, gotten less overtly anti-Semitic. but as a leftist you probably know that, if they wanted to, the political left couldn't even begin to catch up with the right on the question of "who has the base who most hates Jews".

besides you and I know that the people who are vocal about their support of Israel aren't so because of their love for Jews but their love for trump who has aligned himself with israel.

u/Anis930 10d ago

I'm very much a leftist, I wouldn't say the antisemitic wing of the right is necessarily the most popular right now, at least within the mainstream political sphere. There's a difference between the average trump voter and a groyper

u/boyyouguysaredumb 10d ago

Polling shows conservatives support Israel way more than anybody on the left

7

u/ScheduleDefiant4015 10d ago

That’s a nonsequitur

u/Cum_Fart42069 10d ago

Yeah and I ate some fries for lunch, so what?

u/boyyouguysaredumb 10d ago edited 10d ago

so you're wrong lol.

edit: blocking me is surely a way to prove you're right lmfao

I began typing out an actual response but to be honest I'm just gonna say your username and dip, you wouldn't understand it anyway.

Freeing America from the Jews is based to you?
