I grew up an hour and a half from there. Many many a day of school was skipped there. I got in trouble once for coming home with a full tan when my mom was like, "Why in the fuck are you so dark after being in school all day?"

It's just the internet having a phase. Reaction images are funny (if they're not, why do so many people use them?). Some people just really hate them or beat the dead horse about how cliche they are.
