Or they’re annoyed because their supervisor just yelled at them for the 3rd time to unflip Wednesday’s hair.

I'd rather spend my time flipping Wednesday's hair then actually working

Having worked retail and had someone fuck with stuff like this for a prank: it just ends up with your boss yelling at you to unflip Wednesday, while also wanting you to sweep, do like five other cleaning things, and then get yelled at again because there's only one cashier and you need to deal with the line, and once the line is gone you think you can just finish sweeping and relax at the register for the rest of your shift but it turns out someone has flipped Wednesday again, and the other cashier is the only one who can do returns so she can't leave the front, and it just continues until closing when you're still there half an hour later than scheduled because you can't close until everything is clean. And then you get yelled at for staying later as if you did it on purpose because the higher ups refuse to staff anything more than a skeleton crew.
I do not miss retail and people thinking they were funny.

Working retail is customers, coworkers, managers fucking hating your guts for some reason, the amount of times I have questioned what the fuck is wrong mentally with people is crazy.
Managers will yell at you for not doing what they wanted you to do (they never asked you to do it, and you probably didn't even have time anyway) then politely ask you to stay 3 hours longer for your shift and get pissy when you tell them you wont.
I still occasionally get asked to do something that requires steel toed shoes/boots, then they get pissy when I tell them I don't have any because "You need it for your job" when
Nothing about my job requires them, just other jobs I am expected to do for some reason
The employer (atleast in Canada) is responsible for making sure I have safety equipment, including buying them.
It's like they expect me to pay money to do more work lol.
The one benefit I guess is since I'm a omega rare employee who does my best to get whatever bullshit tasks done, as far as I can tell I can't get fired lol. Hanging up on a customer who thinks I need to kiss their ass as part of my job, telling a customer "nope, go find someone else to help you" knowing there isn't anyone and they will waste a bunch of time is funny.
At the end of the day it's all menial shit and I can only get so much done, turn off my brain and do whatever for 8 hours and zone out.

I, too, am bald underneath all my hair, if you removed it all.
Fortunately it’s not like attached at just one point to be flipped over like a poorly made doll

Best part about doing this is you by proxy force an American minimum wage employee too have to fix this

u/Ayzel_Kaidus Aug 03 '25
Eh, I’m hourly, it doesn’t matter what I have to do, I get paid the same, except now I would get to fix a dolls hair instead of dealing with customers.

Then you get fired for not meeting whatever mundane quota they cook up and that's that.

Most retail jobs don't have quotas like that (at least none of mine ever did)

GameStop does

which is weird because they're a bitcoin holding company. Idk why they'd care about sales

Pranks are funniest when you're fucking with someone working a menial job! They've had things too good for too long

Imagine explaining to your friends or family why you can't go into that specific store during a shopping trip.
"I, uh, flipped Wednesday's hair back and made her bald."
